Advancing Equities in Procurement
Each year, HHS awards close to $9.4 billion to small businesses to meet continuous product and service needs to enhance the health and well-being of all Americans. The Biden-Harris Administration has expressed an effort towards equalizing federal procurements and tackling long-standing inequities in the federal contracting system, taking bold steps to ensure the federal procurement system mirrors the demographics of this country. The administration is developing and executing plans to enforce existing laws for subcontracting and ensure prime contractors honor their commitments to small and disadvantaged businesses through robust oversight and measures of accountability.
